Have you ever thought about what you would do if you or a loved one had a long term care event? How would you pay for it? Or the effect of a long term care event on your assets, independence and peace of mind? Just the thought of this can be overwhelming and many people are not aware of the tools that can be used to lessen the impact of a long term care event on their assets & retirement plan.
Noel Evans & Shari Friedman opened Lifetime Solutions Plus in the summer of 2015, with an emphasis on educating the public about the importance of long term care planning. With Noel’s background as a Long Term Care specialist, they believe that LTC planning should be a part of a financial plan.
Having both worked in the insurance industry for captive agencies; Noel & Shari felt that working as independents would most benefit their clients. Noel began his career in mortgage banking and went into the insurance field in 2007. Shari too has a varied background, having worked in HR & Benefits, as well as with Colonial Supplemental & New York Life.
After a long friendship and working together on a referral basis, they launched LSP with a shared commitment of doing what’s best for their clients. Their dedication, integrity and follow through endear them to their clients. While there have been challenges, they are committed to making their clients’ experience seamless and rewarding using holistic planning.
Despite the common challenges typical of the industry, they feel that the advantage of having their own business is, as Shari said; “we control our own destiny by working well together, being confident and having a well thought out business plan.” They also attribute their success to using social media marketing, networking with others in the community and recognizing the importance of cross referrals. Seminars are an integral part of their business plan & they have partnered with other professional business owners to offer a series of seminars that focus on the importance of planning for tomorrow, today.
Their advice to others starting a business is that it takes dedication, a well thought out business plan, organization and a commitment to advertising, marketing and making sacrifices. They believe in supporting their community and working with local businesses to help them plan properly.
