STRIVE TO SUCCEED
Being successful takes knowledge. Knowledge of current trends and changes in all aspects of operating a retail business and of the wider economy. We understand our members’ time is precious, so we have developed education courses that are delivered in a variety of formats to ensure you have the skills and tools necessary to succeed in business.
From business planning and finance, to marketing and merchandising, members get to choose what’s right for their needs from our wide range of training workshops and courses. And they get to choose how they want it delivered; face to face or online, bite size or big chunks!
STRIVE workshops have been created monthly and are available at no cost to members ($35 non-members) on topics of interest for today’s retailers and other small businesses. These one-hour workshops are held in-person at Retail Alliance headquarters with live stream and recording capabilities.
Subject Matter Experts share their expertise and advice, with participants provided at least three things they can implement right away in their businesses.
Topics are designed to be focused, timely and practical, frequently coming from the suggestions of our members.
Center for Retail Excellence
The Center for Retail Excellence (CRE) aims to be the premier source for retail education and support for aspiring and existing business owners. Programs are developed that demonstrate value to participants and empower them for successful participation and engagement in retail activities.
The hybrid Certificate in Retail Operations program (part online, part face-to-face) is ideal for aspiring retailers, existing retail business owners looking to provide training for current and future managers, or current retailers needing to update their skills. The full program is designed to be completed over nine months using a combination of distance and face-to-face learning methodologies.
The Certificate covers seven areas essential to successful retailing and culminates in the development of a workable business plan. Included in the training is the opportunity to present the business plan and get feedback from leaders in the retailing community.
