The Trump administration earlier this year made an Executive Order to allow association health plans.

What this means is that small businesses could soon be able to buy health insurance for their workers through new federally sanctioned association health plans that could operate across state lines. This will allow thousands of small business employers to have the same purchasing power as large employers to get more affordable and generous coverage options for their workers.

Retail Alliance is currently researching the viability of offering health insurance plans to our members. We have emailed out a survey to our members with five short questions. If you are a business owner (you do not need to be a member), please help us by completing it here or even give me a call and tell me your thoughts.

Based on the data, our members have overwhelming interest in health insurance. To properly vet out this new offering, we need more than the current respondents to take the survey. Please take the time (1 minute) to complete the survey in order for us to make a qualified decision.

If you wish to discuss this further with me, you can contact me directly at or call (757) 455-9321. Your input is invaluable!
