RA Business Solutions: A Letter to Retail Alliance Members

RA Business Solutions logoMy colleagues and I at RA Business Solutions frequently find ourselves explaining our role as it pertains to Retail Alliance and Equifax. Though we never shy away from telling the story about how Business Solutions grew from serving as the local credit bureau to what we are today, we realized how this could be a bit confusing to our customer base.

In 1903, Retail Alliance was established as an independently owned credit bureau. 98 years later, we made the decision to partner with Equifax and turn the management of our credit files over to them, while we assumed the role of Equifax Sales Agents under the name Retail Alliance Business Solutions.

Meanwhile, the non-profit side of Retail Alliance transitioned into what you know today as the small business advocacy group of Hampton Roads. The paths and purposes of each side of the business were now split into two divisions.

As we explored different ways of addressing this issue it became clear that Retail Alliance Business Solutions desperately needed a distinctive identity, separate from the non-profit initiative. We decided that this year would be the perfect opportunity to carve out what we believed our perception is and should be.

As we turn the page of 2015 and look to 2016 we will be launching a number of different efforts to “re-acquaint” our partners with who RA Business Solutions is and what we provide.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this rebranding effort is our new website, which has been designed to provide a more enhanced and engaged customer experience. Our very bright and talented Marketing Coordinator, Heather Gregory, has poured months into this project and we are thrilled to share this website with all of you. Our quarterly CreditLine newsletter will have a new look and feel. Logos and colors will be new, but the level of service and professionalism will not. We pride ourselves in providing top shelf service and that will continue to be the standard.
