Taylor's Do it Center Presents $14,000 to Wreaths Across America

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Today, Taylor’s Do it Center presented a check for $14,243 to Wreaths Across America. Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies every December on National Wreaths Across America Day at 3,600 veterans’ cemeteries across the country and abroad.

Throughout the month of November, Taylor’s Do it Center held their annual in-store fundraising campaign for Wreaths Across America.

Today, the local hardware store chain presented a check to Bre Kingsbury, corporate development and community relations director for Wreaths Across America.

“We are very proud of our team’s fundraising efforts and grateful for the generosity of our customers.,” said Meg Taylor, communications director for Taylor’s Do it Center. “With such a large military presence in our community we never want to take for granted their service and sacrifice. That is why it is so important to us to partner with Wreaths Across America.”

Throughout the month-long campaign, customers had the option to roundup at the register, donate a $15 wreath, or give a dollar amount of their choice at any Taylor’s Do it Center location. The company agreed to match the first $5,000 contributed by customers at 50 cents to the dollar up to a maximum of $2,500.

“We are honored to partner with Taylor’s Do it Center again this year.,” said Bre Kingsbury, corporate development and community relations director for Wreaths Across America. “This event is all about local communities coming together to support our fallen military heroes. We are proud of the way Taylor’s Do it Center employees and customers joined our mission again this year. Because of their generous support, more veterans and Gold Star Families will be honored and remembered on National Wreaths Across America Day.”

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day (observed on Saturday, December 17, 2022), Wreaths Across America’s mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,600 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
